Gounel-Lassalle | 1 | Le Haut Belai 1er Cru Brut Nature
This Brut Nature Champagne is a masterful blend of 52% Pinot Noir and 48% Chardonnay, harvested in 2018 and bottled in 2019. It was vinified in a combination of large oak barrels and smaller barrels, boasting a touch of oak complexity.
Tasting notes:
The flint is immediately expressed, without nuance, in a beautiful and biscuity minerality (grilled mango, red apple, honeysuckle, pear, lemon). The almond is presented here in all its forms, from the small financier to the flaked almond followed by toasted, woody, brioche notes without opulence. This is a wine you can enjoy and travel through, a wine that will amaze you, an ideal model from the wine-rider who skates down his plot.
With only 3985 bottles ever produced on this tiny 3-hectare estate, the Champagne Gounel + Lassalle Le Haut Belai piques the interest of collectors.
