About Winery
Château Léoville Las Cases
Bordeaux, France
Located in Saint-Julien, Château Léoville Las Cases is part of the rich history of Bordeaux, one of the region's oldest châteaux. Before the French Revolution, its original extent was even more significant, sharing its roots with Château Léoville-Barton. In 1840, a new division gave rise to Château Léoville-Poyferré, and since the mid-20th century, Château Léoville Las Cases has been under the care of the Delon family.
With 55 hectares, the property is in the historic heart of the original terroir, dating back to the 17th century. The soil, predominantly composed of gravel and clay, is enriched by the diversity of soils formed over various geological periods, originating from the proximity of the Gironde River.
The vines of Château Léoville Las Cases, with an average age of 50 years, tell the vineyard's story. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc are the varieties cultivated at the château with a commitment to excellence. Each vintage is an authentic expression of the terroir and the historical tradition that has evolved over the centuries.
