About Winery
Château L'Évangile
Bordeaux, France
With a history dating back to the 18th century, this property was founded by the Léglise family and later passed through various hands until 1990, when it came under the administration of Domaines Baron de Rothschild.
Situated in the privileged location of Pomerol, Château L'Évangile boasts a rich terroir, with 22 hectares of vineyards on clayey-sandy soils with a notable presence of gravel. The cultivated grapes include 79% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Château L'Évangile is also the first of the Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite properties to adopt organic farming methods, resulting in wines that showcase the best of Pomerol's terroir.
