Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc, with a history dating back to the 13th century. Acquired by Bertrand Ducru in 1795, the estate is highly regarded in the Saint-Julien appellation, located on the famous "left bank" of the Gironde estuary. Its grand vin was classified as a second growth in the Bordeaux Classification of 1855. With a vineyard spanning 75 hectares (185 acres) situated in the southeastern part of the appellation, the estate is predominantly planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. Currently, Bruno Borie oversees the estate and the wine production at Château Ducru-Beaucaillou. The wines produced today offer an intense concentration of flavors, ripe tannins, soft textures, fruit purity, and structure for aging. Additionally, they provide a unique sense of harmony, characteristic of the finest Bordeaux wines.
