Marchesi Antinori Srl is one of Italy’s most traditional wineries, with a history dating back to 1385, when the Antinori family entered the world of winemaking in Florence, Tuscany. Over the centuries, the company evolved and became one of Italy's largest wineries, known for its innovations and for playing a pivotal role in the revolution of "Super Tuscan" wines in the 1970s. The breakthrough came in 1974 with the release of the first vintage of Tignanello, from 1971.
