Description

There are First Growth vintages that transcend the moment, and the 2010 Château Margaux is one of them. Composed predominantly of Cabernet Sauvignon, it carries a tannic weight and aromatic complexity that ranks among the highest of any Margaux produced in the past thirty years. Robert Parker awarded it 99 points, and those who have encountered it understand why: the nose delivers spellbinding aromatics of sweet violets, cedar, ripe blackberry, and blackcurrant of extraordinary purity, while the palate drives through wave after wave of rich, velvety tannin and deep, layered dark fruit. The length is exceptional. A wine that will outlast most of those who cellar it, and should be approached with patience and ceremony.
