This structured wine has the freshest fruit, crisp with black currants. The core of dryness is important, bringing out density to balance the light touch at the back of the wine. Drink from 2023. Roger Voss

Château Duhart Milon
Bordeaux, France
Château Duhart-Milon, one of Pauillac's oldest and most prestigious vineyards, began its history in the 13th century when it was known as "Latour-du-Haut-Milon." In 1592, the fate of the property changed with its acquisition by Arnaud Duhart, a Bordeaux merchant, giving rise to the current name.
In the 18th century, the Brane family managed the château for over a century, and it was during this time that Château Duhart-Milon's wine gained global prominence. The consecration came in 1855 when it was classified as "Premier Cru Classé" during the Bordeaux wine classification.
In 1920, the Rothschild family took over management, maintaining a commitment to producing high-quality wines to this day. Its extensive vineyard of 188 hectares is cultivated with Cabernet Sauvignon (67%) and Merlot (33%).
The exceptional terroir of Château Duhart-Milon, with gravel, sand, limestone, and clay soils and an average vine age of 30 years, provides the foundation for extraordinary wines.
