Opus One 2019 offers intense aromas of black plum, blueberry, cassis, and
dried rose petals, accented by mineral nuances. The creamy texture reveals
gentle acidity and fine tannins. There's a subtle tension among flavors of dark
fruit, fresh herbs, espresso and cocoa. A delicate bitterness of dark
chocolate lingers on the finish.
Brilliant, an absolutely masterful wine that you could enjoy at release because it sings
out loud in such fabulous balance. But if you forget him in the cellar, you can also be so
really happy when rediscovered

About Winery
Opus One
Napa Valley, USA
Opus One Winery is located in Oakville, California, USA, and is renowned for its pursuit of excellence in wine production. Originally named Napamedoc until 1982, the wine became known as Opus One after the winery was founded as a joint venture between Baron Philippe de Rothschild of Château Mouton Rothschild and Robert Mondavi. The goal was to create a Bordeaux-style blend using grapes from Napa Valley.
The first vintage, dating back to 1979, was released in 1984, alongside the 1980 vintage. At that time, Opus One became one of the most expensive Californian wines and continues to be one of the most sought-after reds from Napa Valley.
What distinguishes Opus One is its philosophy of sustainable viticulture, with careful vineyard management prioritizing soil health, responsible water use, and the promotion of biodiversity. The winery is dedicated to environmental preservation and innovation, aiming to produce wines of superior quality.
Opus One specializes in crafting red wines, predominantly using Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec grapes.
