Château Margaux | 2020 | 1er Grand Cru Classé - Margaux
A nose of the utmost refinement, like a huge bouquet of tulips in every color. The notes of fine blue fruits and precious woods are subtly noble. A delicious vein of freshness floats delicately towards the nostrils. On the palate, the wine is pure, clean and tender. It's not the most exuberant of the vintage, but it has a serene assurance and a power that increases crescendo to bring more shape and structure, and a hint of fat. These elements will evolve endlessly in the glass, their intensity in perpetual change. The chocolatey, finely grained finish is subtle and delicious.

This is a big wine, smoky and rich. With a higher proportion of Petit Verdot than in the past, it offers complexity and bold black fruits. The wine is structured while always ripe and generous. Drink this magnificent wine from 2028.

Château Margaux
Bordeaux, France
"From an exceptional terroir comes a great wine". This adage, dear to the hearts of Château Margaux's successive owners, is the perfect expression of the estate's geological singularity, whose rare and unique terroir is located on a hillock of gravel.
Originally, Chateau Margaux was called "La Mothe de Margaux". This name dates back to the lifetime of the former owner, the Duke of Aquitaine or probably better known as "Richard the Lionheart". With origins dating back to the 12th century, Château Margaux is one of those Grands Crus that have built the legend of great Bordeaux wines around the world.
In 1855, the château was awarded the title of Premier Grand Cru Classé, and was the only one of the four châteaux to achieve a score of twenty out of twenty. With the 1977 acquisition of the property by André Mentzelopoulos, Château Margaux wrote a new page in its history. Raising the Grand Vin de Château Margaux to the highest level, he reintroduced the Second Vin du Château, Pavillon Rouge du Château Margaux, initiated in 1908.
Following in her father's footsteps due to his untimely death, Corinne Mentzelopoulos took up the family banner with energy and passion to maintain Château Margaux's standing as a Bordeaux masterpiece, so recognizable by its neo-Palladian allure. Vintage after vintage, the estate's crus rank among the world's finest wines.
