The 2018 Sassicaia emerged from what was widely regarded as a classical vintage for Bolgheri: cool and composed in style, the wines carrying the kind of elegance and restraint that invite comparison with the greatest Bordeaux. The nose reveals itself in perfumed waves: violets, cherry blossom, and lavender, underlined by intense dark cherry, cranberry, cola, and graphite. Aromas of ripe red cherry and black fruit are supported by cedary sweet spice and beautifully integrated oak; the palate shows balanced, lively acidity and a cocoa-powder texture of genuine distinction.
