Château Palmer 3ème Cru Classé, Margaux, 2015

The 2015 Palmer is a wine of particular complexity and harmony. The nose unfolds through multiple aromatic registers: vibrant red currant and black cherry at the fore, then wild blueberry, earth, and mineral, then slowly unfurling violets and dried rose, then baker's chocolate and fragrant earth. The palate is medium to full-bodied, generously fruited, with fine-grained tannins of extraordinary ripeness and a quality that seems to skip along with a freshness unusual for a wine of this weight. The finish is beguilingly earthy, with a mineral core that speaks directly to the Margaux terroir. A wine of beguilingly complex character that will reward many years of patient ageing.
